More than 10 attractions in Puerto Plata

Cabarete

Originally a fishermen’s town, today it is the jet-setters’ perfect escapade. Rated as one of the top ten beaches of the world to practice kitesurf and windsurf, it is also home of the Cabarete Lagoon and Goleta, which portrait amazing landscaping and caves.

Playa Dorada

Golden sand and pristine beaches is what you will find at one of Puerto Plata’s oldest and most famous turistic developments. Great service and an 18-hole golf course are some of its principal attractions.

Cofresi Beach

Located west of Puerto Plata this is a serene and peaceful spot with an attractive bay surrounded by palm trees. You can also find here the famous Ocean World (theme and intercative park) and a golf course.

Damajaqua Waterfalls

Puerto Plata’s most famous natural attratction is a unique spectacle in the entire Caribbean. Damajagua is a series of crystal-clear waterfalls from the Cordillera Septentrional where you can also find giant rock formations, puddles and natural slides.

Mount Isabel de Torres:

This mountain reaches 760 meters above sea level. You can take the famous cable car to ascend to the top where you will find the Botanical Garden and the famous statue of Christ the Redeemer which is 16 meters high.

Amber Museum

It is a Victorian mansion located in the center of Puerto Plata, this place is ideal to learn about resin, observe stones, fossils and acquire precious amber jewels.

Fort San Felipe

The place is a sample of military architecture from the colonial era, there is a museum with a collection of old weapons and military artifacts from the 18th and 19th centuries.
